Whoa-tough competition for those 3 dynamite speeches today! Judy Townsend in her “Honeymoon Adventures in the Alps” used irony to convey her hilariously humility on the slopes of the Swiss Alps-moral of the story? If you really like someone forget putting them through a test (you might lose).

Marcus Mueller in his “Cultural Differences” speech won the crowd over with his humors situations ranging from police escorts to his plays on words-his friend asks, “Can I sleep with you?” (He meant to say, “Can I stay with you?”) Sounds like his friend got lucky-not all play-on-word situations end poorly!

Scott Ray wowed the crowed with his impromptu five minute speech on Language. Scott volunteered to speak today and with no preparation, whips out a southern drawl that fooled us all and then shared the secrets on how to fake anyone out. Best question for a Brit? “Are you French?”

Mary saved a punchline, Monir hosted a fabulously engaging Bakery pre-meeting and Scott urged us to gain perspective at http://www.gizmozo.com ‘Watch this’.

All in All, after the votes were counted, Judy Townsend won first place and is going to the humorist contest! Please go and support her! She is leaving West Seattle around 4ish and is going to grab a bite to eat before the contest-you’re invited! Please Contact Beth if you are interested in doing a raffle or helping out at the door and contact Judy if you would like to join her for carpooling, dinner or let her know you’ll be there to support her!
