Meeting notes for August 28, 2015

Those in attendance: Brian Kostecki, CC, Mykal Amaré, ACB, CL, Cause Haun, Chuck Furumori, Josh Huisenga, Jim Guenther, ATMB, Shawn Terjeson ATMB and Greg Phillips, CC, CL, we had no guests today.

What a great meeting today, a small but mighty group filled the room with a great sense of community, frivolity and sweet presence.

Chuck who has filled in as our interim president called the meeting to order, Greg gave us our inspiring inspiration. He invited us to step out of our comfort zone, which is the most precarious zone we can be in.

Our Toastmaster for the day was Brian Kostecki; Brian did a fantastic job today. I see great improvement in Brian’s capacity to step up as Toastmaster. He always makes a great and today surprise entrance and fills the room with his excitement. You go Brian.

There was one speaker today, but what an impressive speech it was. Josh Huisenga gave us a much improve delivery, which was confirmed by our meeting evaluator, Shawn Terjeson. His speech was from the CC manual, project 3, ‘Organize your Speech’, titled “The Grandfather Client” with time of 7-9 minutes. Josh’s speech focused on bringing businesses that are stuck in the 70’s into the twenty first century. Presence, presentation and project, well done Josh!

Chuck gave us our Table Topics for the day, this proved to give us more food for thought.
“What is your favorite restaurant and what is your favorite food at this restaurant?”
AS you might figure, there were a variety of food establishments proclaimed. From authentic Italian, Voula’s, Portage Bay Café, Elliott Bay Brewery & Pub, a few I/or the speaker were able to remember and then the was the winner was Meskel Ethiopian restaurant given by Mykal.

Greg announced that we will be having our contests on September 11th and 18th both days will have a Humorist Contest winner and Table Topic on each day. This is bound to be a fun pair of events. Please let Greg know if you would like to enter either of the contests. The only requirement is that your dues current. So any of you can enter (all but Mykal), try it you just might like it.

Invite guests and remember we are going to invite our member that have not been at the meeting in a while.

No meeting on September 4th in honor of Labor Day weekend. Have a great couple of weeks.
