Here is a wrap up for our meeting today.

Those in attendance: Brian Kostecki, CC, Mykal Amaré, ACB, CL, Norman Bell, CC, Jean Manwaring, ACB, Jim Guenther, ATMB, Greg Phillips, CC, CL; Beth Dewey, ACB, Janet Dowd, Mimi Stewart and Cause Haun. We had two guests today, David Warren and Younus Raze.

It was good to be back at our meeting today, good way to start off the year.

Norman Bell, CC, called the meeting to order at 7:45 AM amid the buy sounds of conversation of people catching up with each other.

Janet Dowd gave us a couple of inspirational readings, thank you Janet.

Mimi was our Toastmaster for the day. This is her second time residing as TM.

We had two speeches today. First was from Mykal Amaré; Mykal has started a new CC manual. This speech was project #2 ‘Organize Your Speech’ with the title “De-Cluttering the Clutter.” This was an appropriate speech for the beginning of a new year.

Second speech was a speech by Greg Phillips. Greg’s gave us a speech from the Speaking to Inform Manual, project 1 ‘The Speech to Inform’; the title of his speech was “Leaving Ordinary Behind.” This was another great speech for the start of a new year.

Jean was the evaluation for Mykal’s speech and Mykal gave the evaluation for Greg’s speech.

Brian was our Table Topics Master, topic was “Your favorite book and movie.”

Jim Guenther was the meeting evaluator.

The winners today are for speech-Mykal; table topic-Norman and no clean slate winner today.

Mykal announced that the International Speech and Evaluation contest is coming up. Clubs should have their contest in February, the Area contest will be in March, the Division Contest in April then on to the Spring Conference on May 21st. Think about entering the contest, it is a great experience.

Next Friday January 15th.
