Meeting notes for February 5, 2016

Those in attendance: Brian Kostecki, CC, Mykal Amaré, ACB, CL, Norman Bell, CC, Beth Dewey, ACB, Janet Dowd, and Cause Haun, David Warren, Chuck Furumori, Jeremy Blum, Josh Huisenga, Mary Brennan, ACB, Shari Kaufman. No guests today.

What fun meeting, it had great mood to it.

Norman Bell, CC, called the meeting to order at 7:45 AM, a good meeting always starts on time.

Jeremy Blum gave us our inspiration today; it was a very good one.

Mykal Amaré was our Toastmaster for the day. Mykal stepped in for Jim G, who was having a bit of a health challenge

We only had one speech today. Norman gave us his final speech from the Story Telling Manual.” Project ‘Bringing History to Life’. Title “A True Progressive” about Theodore Roosevelt. This was a very interesting story, I for one, didn’t know half of the information about Teddy.

Chuck was the evaluator for Norman’s speech. Chuck also gave us our Word of the day

”Diel.”

Brian was our Table Topics Master, topic was “Super Bowl are you going to watch, if not what will you do?”

Josh was the meeting evaluator. Great job Josh.

Shari was our Timer, Janet Dowd was the vote counter and Dave gave us our Humor for the day.

It was good to see Mary today; Mary graciously agreed to be our grammarian, thanks Mary.

The winners today are for speech-Norman; table topic-Josh & Dave and clean slate went to Beth.

This was Norman’s last meeting as President due to the fact he has daddy duties. The other officers are taking turns (3 week at a time) Greg will go first, then Josh followed by Chuck and then Mykal.

We are in the middle of our international speech and evaluation contest. The final contest will be on February 26th. The Area contest will be held on TBD.

Mykal announced that the International Speech and Evaluation contest is coming up. Clubs should have their contest in February, the Area contest will be in March, the Division Contest in April then on to the Spring Conference on May 21st. Think about entering the contest, it is a great experience.

Next Friday February 12th. Brian will be our Toastmaster.
