In attendance: Brian Kostecki, Pat Buchanan, Janet Dowd, Susan Davis, Marina King, David Fisher, Shari Kaufman, Jeremy Blum, Jim Guenther, Jean Manwaring, Josh Huisenga, David Trise.

Brian Kostecki served as president and toastmaster this day. Thank you, Brian.

Pat Buchanan inspired us by introducing us to Randy Pausch’s, “The Last Lecture.” The message is “are you spending your time on the right things? Because time is all you have.”

Janet Dowd entertained as humorist with some Halloween jokes.

We had two speakers this morning:

Jeremy Blum talked about “Walking to School” with his children. Evaluation provided by Shari Kaufman.

Susan Davis gave us a detailed overview of the worlds holidays in “Holidays.” Joshua Huisenga provided the evaluation.

Word of the day, “Guise,” was given to us by David Fisher.

We then had the costume contest line-up. Jeremy, Brian, Marina, Shari, Janet, Josh and David Trise all came in costume. Members voted on their favorites.

Table Topic for the day was, “Share something spooky or paranormal that you have witnessed,” provided by David Fisher. Most members participated.

Janet Dowd reported on time.

General evaluation was provided by Joshua Huisenga.

Janet also tallied our votes. Susan Davis won for long-form speech, and David Trise won for Table Topic. Costume winners were then announced. Josh won first place as Mister Twister, and David Trise won second place as an English Knight. Or was it Scottish?

Meeting was adjourned at 9:05.
