Meeting opened by Club President Chuck Furumori at 7:46.

Jeremy Blum led the meeting as Toastmaster. His theme for the day was “Presidential.”

Mykal Amarré inspired us with powerful quotes by women.

Jeremy also entertained us in the humorist role.

Word of the day was “Collywobbles,” brought to us by Janet Dowd. Collywobbles refers to the nervous sensation in the belly, discomfort, or nausea.

Speeches:

  • Brian Kostecki gave us an overview of his east coast “Road Trip along the Atlantic.” Evaluation provided by Shawn Terjeson.
  • David Warren entertained us with the story of his proposal to his wife, titled “A Simple Plan.” Evaluation provided by Joshua Huisenga.

Jeremy interjected with some interesting presidential facts.

David Warren provided our Table Topic for the morning. He asked, “If you could go back in time to relive or alter a moment in your life, what would you do?” Nearly everyone participated.

Susan Davis reported on grammar with a count of filler words and a review of some favorite expressions.

Jean Manwaring provided the general evaluation for our meeting. She commented on Jeremy’s transitions between the parts of the meeting, and encouraged us to watch our dropping voices.

Chuck tallied our votes: The count for long-form speech was a tie between Brian Kostecki and David, while the award for table topic was a three-way split between Beth Dewey, Susan Davis, and Janet Dowd.

Meeting adjourned by President Chuck at 8:55AM.
